2ndLine - Second Phone Number

A separate number for calls and texts

2ndLine - Second Phone Number gives Android users an additional US or Canadian phone number that works over Wi-Fi or mobile data. It suits people who want to separate personal and work communication, keep a number for online contacts, or use a second line without carrying another SIM card. The app is developed by TextNow, Inc. and is listed in the Communication category.

Calling and messaging features

You can choose a US area code and use the number for domestic calls and texts in the US and Canada. The app also supports picture messaging, video messaging, caller ID, and call logs. For communication outside North America, international calling is available to more than 230 countries, with charges depending on the destination.

Useful controls for a second line

2ndLine can work as a default dialer and includes options to make the extra number easier to distinguish from your main phone line. Custom ringtones, vibrations, and backgrounds help identify incoming activity, while a home-screen widget and quick replies provide faster access to common actions. Because calls use an internet connection, reliability and call quality can vary with the available network.

What users think

The app has a rating of 4.15 out of 5 from more than 138,000 reviews, with 10,000,000+ installs. That scale suggests it is a well-established option for users who need a practical second number, especially for everyday North American calling and texting.
