Camera for Android

A straightforward camera replacement

Camera for Android is a photography app for taking still photos, recording video, and creating panoramas without filling the viewfinder with extra controls. It suits Android users who want a familiar, stock-style camera experience, especially on phones where the built-in camera app feels crowded or inconsistent.

Practical shooting controls

The app includes common camera adjustments for different conditions. White balance presets cover incandescent, fluorescent, daylight, cloudy, and automatic settings, while scene modes help match the camera to the subject or surroundings. Users can also assign the phone’s volume buttons to take a photo or control zoom, which can make handheld shooting more comfortable.

Panoramas and adaptable layout

A guided panorama mode helps users capture wider scenes with a more controlled movement than a series of manually joined photos. The interface is designed to adapt between phones and tablets, keeping the main controls usable across different screen sizes. Its emphasis is on direct access to capture settings rather than filters, social sharing tools, or extensive editing.

What users think

Camera for Android is published by Litter Penguin and listed in the Photography category. It has a 4.83 rating from 321,890 reviews and more than 10,000,000 installs, indicating broad use across Android devices. This is a better fit for people who value simple controls and familiar camera functions than for photographers looking for advanced computational effects or deep post-processing.
